Values and Ethos

Crockenhill Primary School At Crockenhill Primary School we have a thorough understanding of the context of our children and a clear vision that drives us in the development of every child. This vision can be summed up as: We believe everyone can excel through working together.  We recognisethe importance of providing an ethos and environment within school that will help children to feel safe, secure and respected; encourage them to talk openly; and enable them to feel confident that they will be listened to.  Our curriculum ensures that all of our pupils are given opportunities to learn and grow regardless of their starting points or background. Our values run through our curriculum like a golden thread, with the aim of unlocking the potential in every child, and promoting a ‘go for it’ attitude which will last a lifetime.

School Values

At our school we have six values. Every term we change our value. These values are:

  • Cooperation
  • Perseverance
  • Independence
  • Motivation
  • Creativity
  • Aspiration.

Every week in achievement assembly, the teachers each choose a child from their class to be presented with a certificate. The children who are given the certificates have shown the current term’s value in their work that week.  We also celebrate achievements undertaken out of school and we have 'stars of the week'.
